Food & Facts Returns on February 19!
The popular “Food & Facts” program returns to Coffey County Hospital on February 19.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience during this nine-month absence,” said Director of Marketing Tracy Campbell. “We are excited to start off with a presentation by our new Chief Executive Officer Leonard Hernandez, and are busy lining up presentations for the rest of the year centered around the programs and services offered within Coffey Health System.”
Hernandez took the reigns at CHS in September 2015 and is the eleventh CEO in the organization’s 61-year history. He will address important things the community should know about Coffey Health System, beginning with a birds-eye view of how Coffey County Hospital compares with the 5,686 hospitals in the nation. Participants will also learn about some of the most important items on his “to do” list.
The public is invited to attend the Food & Facts presentation on Friday, February 19, from noon to 1 p.m. in Coffey County Hospital's Allen Woods 2 Conference Room. Attendance and lunch are free; however, seating is limited. To register by phone, call the reservation line at (620) 364-2121 Ext. 4174. Online registration is also available at www.coffeyhealth.org. The Food & Facts series, previously known as Lunch & Learn, is a community service of Coffey Health System.
Hernandez brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership in Kansas. For the past three years, he served as CEO at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Morton County Health System for nine years and Holton Community Hospital for five years. He serves on the board of directors for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas and on the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board. He is a past chairman of the Kansas Hospital Association and served on the Governor’s Health Care Cost Containment Commission.
He and his wife, Joni, have made their home in New Strawn.
