We sincerely regret that obstetrics services at Coffey County Hospital will cease effective June 30, 2025. As planned, we will deliver all third-trimester pregnancies (as of March 31). We will work individually with our remaining patients to seamlessly transfer care to the hospitals they select.
This is one of the most challenging decisions a small, rural hospital can face. It is based upon declining numbers and is not a reflection of our obstetrics nurses or providers; on the contrary, they provide exceptional services and care and immensely care about our expectant moms and newborns. We are committed to keeping these full- and part-time nurses in the CHS family by utilizing their nursing skills and compassion in other departments.
