Corporate and private donations help the Foundation to fulfill its goals of providing educational scholarships, facilities development, grounds beautification, technology advancements, and enrichment programs and activities.
The future of healthcare lies in the hands of our young people. The Roy G. DeLong Scholarship was established in 2000 to encourage area high school graduates to pursue a college education. While the hope is that the recipients will someday pursue a career related to healthcare, other fields of study are not precluded. Recipients are studying such diverse fields as business, education, pre-med, pre-law, and physical therapy.
The Foundation has awarded more than $460,500 from the Roy G. DeLong Scholarship Fund to 143 deserving graduates from all Coffey County high schools and Yates Center High School. Two adults have also pursued advanced education with scholarships from the Foundation. Each recipient is awarded a $1,000 scholarship, renewable for two years.

Expanded/Endowed Services
New equipment and state-of-the-art technology are made possible through low-interest loans from the Foundation.
Recognizing a unique opportunity to honor local World War II veterans, the Foundation was a primary sponsor of the April 2008 Honor Flight, a one-day trip to Washington D.C. coordinated by the administration and students of Southern Coffey County High School. These 37 gentlemen—and countless others like them—served our country with honor in battlefields and stations around the globe, then returned to east-central Kansas to raise their families, start businesses, and become anchors of their communities. Their families have entrusted us with their healthcare for generations. In return, the Foundation is honored to have been a part of this remarkable event.
The important work of the Coffey Health Foundation is made possible through generous donations from people just like yourself. Tax-deductible donations—both large and small—allow us to present scholarships to Coffey and Woodson County high school graduates and assist with the advancement of technology and state-of-the-art equipment at Coffey Health System. What better way to invest in your community? A variety of giving options is available. Please consider the manner that best fits your situation.
