A simple blood test can reveal a wealth of information about your health and—for a short time—Coffey Health System offers a convenient and inexpensive way to get the full story.

Community Blood Tests are back at Coffey Health System with six convenient locations! Participants can receive a comprehensive blood screen for just $40. Optional prostate screens are $20.

Tests included in the comprehensive panel can detect many disease processes, such as diabetes, anemia, hyper/hypothyroid, and diseases of the liver and kidney. Additionally, abnormally elevated cholesterol and triglyceride values can indicate a higher risk of coronary artery disease, heart attack, and stroke.

Laboratory and Emergency Medical Services staff will be at the following locations:

• Gridley Medical Clinic, Monday, April 28, 7:30 - 9 a.m.
• LeRoy Community Center, Tuesday, April 29, 7:30 - 9 a.m.
• Waverly Medical Clinic, Wednesday, April 30, 7:30 - 9 a.m.
• Yates Center Medical Clinic, Friday, April 18 AND Friday, May 2, 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.
• Burlington 4H Building at Kelley Park, May 12-16, 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.
• The lab at Coffey County Hospital will also accommodate a limited number of appointments at the hospital. Appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling (620) 364-2121 Ext. 4337.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Patients must have fasted for at least 12 hours at the time of their blood draw, meaning no food or liquids except water. 
• The cost of the tests—$40 for the comprehensive screen and $20 for the optional prostate screen—must be paid at the time of the blood draw and is not billed to insurance.
• Results are reviewed by laboratory staff and sent directly to the patient only. It is the patient's responsibility to share the results with their physician.
