Emergency Medical Technician Jordan Hartpence received Coffey Health System’s 2025 BEE Award in a presentation on March 4. An acronym for “Being Excellent Everyday,” the award recognizes non-nursing staff throughout the organization who show extraordinary professionalism, skill, and compassion.
Jordan joined the Coffey County Emergency Medical Services team a year ago and is studying to become a paramedic.
“Jordan is very eager to learn, not just in our field but in others as well,” said Coffey County EMS Director Jesse Presley. “He has a strong work ethic. To see him growing and learning is exactly what we hope for in our younger generation of medical professionals.”
In their nomination, the hospital nursing staff wrote, “Jordan has demonstrated going above and beyond his job duties as an EMT. When not out on a call serving our community, he dedicates his services to his coworkers here at CHS. Whether it be assisting in the ER with cleaning and making beds once patients are discharged, getting supplies for the nurse, or helping get patients connected to the monitor, if he is around, he will help in any way he can.”
His dedication extends beyond EMS. With higher patient volumes at the hospital, Jordan doesn’t hesitate to step in where help is needed. In nominating Jordan for the award, the hospital nurses state that he helped answer call lights and assist patients into bed or to the bathroom. “Whatever they needed, if he could assist, he would. Jordan has exemplified the meaning of teamwork within the facility.”
Anyone can nominate a CHS associate for recognition in the BEE Award program or The DAISY Award, which honors nurses. To submit a nomination online, visit www.coffeyhealth.org/patient-experience.
